Karma Party

When we moved into our current place back in April, it happened after the near eviction of the former tenant.  A possible prostitute/drug dealer who left the place in shambles for us to pick up after and fix.

This is not an endorsement for a particular candidate....

...however it is Ben Folds Five related, which just happens to be on of my favorites.

Now I wonder if I'll be able to listen to the song in the same way again.

The following is an email sent to all sales associates at my store...

This will be addressed again in our sales staff meeting on [Friday].  Some of the past emails that [Jane Doe] had been requested to copy each of you on have involved at least two of our four last new hires.  I do apologies for in incontinence that this has caused the parties involved.

Not going into work today

Snowed in car
Last night I stated, "If there's ice tomorrow, I'm not going to work!"  Well there was ice and my guilty conscience soon got the best of me and after taking the 1/2 inch of molded ice and warming up the car I was on my way to Slumberland.   On my way down 17th street, about a quarter of the way to work, an out of control SUV took out the car ahead of me.  I've since decided to call work and take the rest of the day off.
Yeah Snow Day!

New Gadgets

I have a printer!!!!!! Ok, you're saying great, why is he so enthused that he needs to use 6+ marks of exclamation, but I've been without one for the past couple years and I'm only just beginning to realize how much I missed having a device that prints.  I'm also quickly discovering that it is becoming a new area to take up all my time, and not a moment too soon as I've temporarily canceled my WoW account.

Awhile back I decided I wanted to have scrapbooks filled with personalized quick reference pages.  If I wanted a refresher on the Modern Art, I could quickly access diagrams, pictures, and helpful hints on the movement.  Well, I'll see if I get as far as Modern Art in this new venture.  The main idea is to better answer questions I don't have a clear answer for, research them, make pages, and then PRINT them and stuff them into a scrapbook.

Yesterday I was consumed by creating a layout and researching presidential candidates.  Later in the evening after an enlightening talk with C about Combustion, I made a diagram for that too.

I guess the short of it is that this is a happy hobby, and now I have the tool to accomplish it.

Vampire Hunter D

How to pick up Vampires

I thought I might be a geek for loving Vampire Hunter D movies, but now that the books are out, it's confirmed.

I'm also splitting reading time by checking out Neil Strauss' self chronicles in The Game.

I don't know if it's safe to read them on alternating nights :P

I love this holiday

The 07 Halloween chapter closes and I think it may have been one of my favorites.  I've gone from trick-or-treating as a kid, then putting a lot of effort in to throwing themed parties from Jr. High through my first years of College, to now just finding a good costume and joining the hundreds downtown and forgetting most inhibitions.  I love this holiday.

I shouldn't be up right now, but I've made the unfortunate miscalculation of staying up way to late on Wednesday and slightly altering my circadian rhythm schedule.   Well it should be a fun day at work, as I'm scheduled for the early shift.
I'm on the tail end of a two week absence of C and I'm more than a little excited for Sunday to get her as soon as possible.   Being without her for more than a week always reminds me of how I've changed over the last two years.  I'm definitely not independent in the way I used to be although she's never asked for me to lose any of my independence.   Yes, I'm anxious for her to get back, granted there is no way I would have leveled in WOW as much as I have if she had been around.   I'm a time waster.
For all those not in Lincoln, you've missed a pretty excellent storm that continues to leave soft rumblings in its wake.  A bit too cold out to go out and enjoy a good soak, but invigorating none the less.  Maybe that's why I'm still up.
